Cast Iron Receiver Vessel. Alexandra Park
Cast Iron Receiver Vessel. Alexandra Park
This vessel just over a metre long is located in the middle of the park on the approximate contour line of a spring-line. There are several open springs of water on the same contour within a few hundred metres of this spot. The bottom end of the vessel is connected to some pipe work below ground by a 100mm diameter bolted flange, which was only visible by removing a few centimetres of soil. It had two access points (visible) on the side plugged with square-head threaded plugs and a lifting eye-bolt on the top
